How's the airport right now?
Real-time status updates from travelers inside the terminal. Report security wait times, AC, parking, and crowds to help the next flight out.
How it works
- 1Click Report status and mark what you see. Five seconds, all optional.
- 2Your report feeds the live banner up top, blended with everyone else's.
- 3Post a note or a photo for the feed. One photo per person per day.
The banner reflects the last 2 hours. Quiet stretches clear out on their own.
The airport recommends arriving 3 hours early if checking bags during weekend peak times (Saturdays/Sundays 11 AM – 4 PM). Otherwise, 2 hours early is standard.
Do not leave tagged checked bags at the counter! You must carry your tagged bags yourself to the US Customs hall, pass the Agriculture (USDA) scan, clear Customs, and then place them on the bag drop belt.
St. Thomas is outside the US Customs zone. You will clear US Customs at STT *before* boarding your flight. Once cleared, you fly back to the mainland as a domestic passenger.
A US Passport is highly recommended. If you don't have one, US citizens can present a state-issued Real ID or a government photo ID plus a physical US Birth Certificate.
US residents enjoy a special $1,600 duty-free allowance (double the normal rate). You can bring back up to 5 liters of liquor duty-free, plus a 6th liter if it is produced in the USVI (like Cruzan Rum).
Dining, seating, and food options post-security are extremely limited, expensive, and crowded. We recommend eating a full meal before heading to the airport or packing snacks.
TSA PreCheck & Global Entry: STT accepts both programs! TSA PreCheck expedites security screening, and Global Entry expedites customs preclearance. A dedicated Global Entry lane is available, but every traveler in your party (including children) must have their physical card.
